WHERE THE MONEY GOES

The Charities selected to benefit from an association with Swimathon contribute together with Swimathon Foundation to the costs of the organisation, operation and promotion of the Swimathon campaign and challenges. Swimathon participants and supporters are encouraged to raise funds for Swimathon’s benefitting charities and the charitable funds raised are held and distributed separately in agreed proportions to those benefitting charities. The current charities selected to benefit from an association with Swimathon until 2027 are Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie who together stand to receive at least 70% of the funds raised, to be split equally between them, with the balance to be received by Swimathon Foundation.

The Charity selected to benefit from an association with Marathon Swims is currently Alzheimer’s Society, which has the exclusive right to acquire and offer places in the event for sale and raises funds from the sale of those places and from donations made by Marathon Swims participants and supporters.’
