EAST SUSSEX SWIMMING SCHOOL TO BENEFIT FROM SWIMATHON FOUNDATION GRANT
A swimming school in Hailsham has received vital funding from the Swimathon Foundation.
Mother Goose Swim School applied for the grant as part of Swimathon Foundation’s Covid-19 Relief Fund announced last month.
The East Sussex swim school was set up two years ago and teaches individuals aged 4+ to learn to swim. The organisation champions an inclusive, fun and safe approach to swimming and teaches a diverse range of swimmers.
With the coronavirus outbreak preventing the use of swimming pools, the Swimathon Foundation’s grant will go towards pool hire and refunds for outstanding swimming lessons.
Amy Gander from Mother Goose Swim School said:
“The grant will give me the ability to get back on my feet and almost start a new again. With the current situation I'm not willing to change the way I teach (in the water face to face) so I could easily be out of the pool for 6 months but pray that I can go back in September.
“Sadly all the kit that I left in the pool at lockdown is now ruined too so the grant will also help towards those extra costs.”
