Grants Scheme Information
The Swimathon Foundation Community Grants Scheme offers funding to groups and individuals who provide and promote swimming in their local community. The Foundation is passionate about encouraging people to get involved with swimming, which it hopes to encourage even further with its Community Grants.
Grants vary from £500 to £2,500 and will only be awarded to organisations supported by pools that are participating in Swimathon. The grants are administered by Swim England and the Swimming Trust and are awarded on an annual basis.
Applications for 2020 are now open and will close on Friday 13th March. If you have any queries about submitting an application, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will endeavour to respond to your question within three working days.
Submitting your application
Once you have sent your application in, you will receive an automatic email response thanking you for your application. Applications for 2020 are open from Monday 13th January and will close on Friday 13th March.
All applications will go to a Swimathon Foundation Community Grant panel to be assessed against the Swimathon Foundation Community Grants criteria.
Decision making process
After the Swimathon Foundation Community grant panel meeting we will email you regarding our decision. If your application is successful then attached to the email will be your offer letter which will explain the terms of the grant and includes all the relevant paperwork that needs completing and sending back for us to arrange your first payment.
Once all paperwork is completed we will ask you to email us an invoice for 50% of your allocated grant amount. If the forms are not returned within one calendar month, then we will assume that you do not want to take up the grant for the project.
If you are unsuccessful we will email you to let you know.
Start your project
Once you have received your offer letter and have filled out the necessary forms attached to the offer letter then you can start to run your project.
Finishing your project
Your project must be completed no later than 12 months following receipt of your first funding payment. You will be asked to complete a monitoring and evaluation form online at the end of your project and must provide accurate and detailed information on this form. If for some reason your project cannot run to finish before this date then please mention this on your application form and the reasoning behind this.
We may ask for you to provide evidence of how the grant was spent, for example original receipts and invoices
